Evergreen Women’s Health is dedicated to getting patients seen and treated in the timeliest manner possible. Patients who are referred to our office for surgical consults are given the earliest consult appointments available. Once patients are seen, a surgical order is generated by the physician and sent for scheduling. Patients’ insurance requirements can vary; therefore, each patient case is researched to determine individual needs. Further testing and appointments may be necessary to build a case prior to approval submittal. Once the prior authorization is received, or if the patient’s insurance determines no prior authorization is needed, the patient is given the earliest available surgical date. Considerations for the timing of the surgery date can include if the surgeon requires an assist, how much time is needed for the procedure, and if the facility where the surgery is to take place has further guidelines regarding the patient. Generally, elective surgeries can be scheduled and performed within a month of the consult, under certain circumstances surgeries can be performed sooner. Our staff is committed to serving our patients with the highest regard to meeting all their needs.
